Saturday 18 August

Mothing Morning,
Red Cow Cottage, Cholsey

IDEAL FOR FAMILIES

Opening a moth trap is always a popular event.

Visit to Red Cow Cottage, 46 Wallingford Road, Cholsey (OX10 9LB) to identify and find out how many moths have been trapped overnight. Many moths usually captured.

Leader:  Tony Rayner, Abingdon Naturalists' Society along with Norman Hall (Reading & District Natural history Society)

Meet: 10.30a.m.

Parking at Red Cow Cottage is very limited so car sharing important. Can also park carefully in Wallingford Road or further down the road in the car park of the Red Lion, the latter if staying for lunch/drink after.  Red Cow Cottage is set back with narrow drive on the left along the straight part of Wallingford Road, approaching from Wallingford. Tony will put out a sign/marker to help locate it.

Please let Graham Bateman know (field@abnats.org.uk) if you plan to come, particularly if can offer lifts. Also, do let him know if you intend to visit the Red Lion after so numbers can be passed on  (www.redlioncholsey.co.uk). The pub has won an award for The Best Newcomer and is to be recommended.

Please check with the Field Events Secretary by phone or email  before travelling to our events, in case of late programme changes, and to help make the best use of transport. Advance booking may be essential for some events.
