Azure Damselflies update

We have had a bumper crop of Azure Damselflies emerging from the pond this year. I have been counting them - what better activity during lock-down? Forty-four have emerged since 15th May and they are emerging at quite a rate in this warm weather (six today). The pictures show the 44th insect soon after emerging and four minutes later after moving away from the exuvia. Note that the four wings start out as tiny cylinders but after just four minutes have started to unfurl!
