‘A Dip in the Jurassic Seas of Oxfordshire’

Commercial excavations uncover prehistory.

Jurassic rocks occur at the surface of two thirds of the county. During a 6 million year period in the Middle Jurassic warm marine seas rich in animal life dominated. The quarries of Oxfordshire reveal a story of these ancient times.
