Tuesday 30 November
River of Life
A walk to look at the River of Life Project phase 2 at Clifton Hampden
What we will see and hear about: We will be walking along the Thames Path from Clifton Hampden to the meadows owned by the Earth Trust, where we will see the new ponds and backwaters which have been created this autumn as part of the River of Life II project. This is a great opportunity to see the work at the early stage of establishment, before marginal vegetation gets established. We’ll also discuss the full scope of the project, the challenges Earth Trust faced along the way and the ongoing management required to maintain these fantastic new features.
We stand a good chance of seeing a variety of birds including Herons, Kingfishers, Sparrowhawks and the usual ducks and geese. If we are incredibly lucky, we may even catch a view of the otters which occupy this stretch of the Thames.
